PC versions of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII have been uploaded to Steam “for months,” according to an RPGSite report, but have not been released to the public.
The SKUs uploaded to the service are from the PC ports that were released from Eidos in 1998 and 2000.
The site claims that files for both games have even been edited from what it originally was to have it run on modern OS systems. A site source, however, adds that both FFVII and VIII crash “frequently” on Windows 7.
It’s because of this that any possible releases are most likely dead in the water.
The files were last updated back in early 2010, according to RPGSite.
